The proportion of smokers among people with diabetes is comparable to the rest of the population. There are still misconceptions that smoking can better manage the disease: "Smoking helps me control my weight," "Smoking helps me manage my stress," "Smoking helps me cope with depression." However, compared to non-smokers with diabetes, the risk of worsening health status are more important. Quitting smoking is of paramount importance, and this, whatever the type of diabetes.
Quitting is not easy, the challenges are real: weight, physical and psychological dependence, Increased stress ... However, it is motivating to know that the risks of smoking begin to decline from the day of Judgement.

Description of peppermint (Mentha x piperita):
Mints are a genus of perennial plants of which there are several species. Peppermint itself includes several varieties are cultivated worldwide. The chemical compound is characteristic of menthol mint. Peppermint contains a greater amount than other species. Precautions

* The pure essential oil, when applied near the eyes can cause temporary irritation. Wash hands after external application.
Prudence
* Pregnancy. Although it is often recommended to pregnant women to relieve nausea in pregnancy, has not yet been demonstrated beyond doubt that the essential oil of peppermint is safe for the fetus.
Contraindications
* Babies. Do not give essential oil for internal use by infants under 30 months.
* Do not use essential oil for internal use in case of bile duct obstruction, inflammation of the gall bladder or severe liver damage.
Adverse
* The tablets are not enteric coated can cause, occasionally heartburn.
* In some sensitive individuals, making very menthol lozenges or essential oil of peppermint can irritate the oral mucosa strongly.
* Rare cases of allergic reactions have been reported when the essential oil of peppermint was used on the skin.
Interactions

* Do not take along an iron supplement and peppermint, because it could interfere with the normal absorption of iron.
With Drug
* Antacids and drugs used to treat gastric ulcers can dissolve the coating of enteric-coated tablets or capsules. Take the mint tablets at least 2 hours before or after these medicines.
* The essential oil of peppermint, internal use, may interact with cyclosporine, an immunosuppressant used in organ transplant cases.
