Description Flax-Linum usitatissimum: The
flax (Linum usitatissimum) is an annual plant of the family Linaceae mainly grown for its fiber, but also for its oilseeds. The flax fibers used to make rope, tissue, or more recently loads insulated building materials. The seeds are used to produce linseed oil industry of the ink and paint, as well as feed for their high omega-3.
Flax is one of the few textile plant in Europe. She has the distinction of being a long fiber (several tens of centimeters) compared to short fibers (cotton, hemp) or medium (wool)
